Communications Team: Content Creation

This position requires approximately 3 hours per week, and successful candidates will be able to make at least six months commitment to the role.

Position Description:

The International Counter-Terrorism Youth Network (ICTYN) is currently looking to recruit a Graphic Designer in a voluntary capacity. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing visual presentations and graphics.

This is an opportunity to join the growing team of ICTYN and be part of an engaged global community of outstanding students interested in security and counter-terrorism issues.

This position requires approximately up to three hours per week; successful candidates will be able to make at least six months commitment to the role.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The position entails working closely with staff across different departments.

Responsibilities include redesigning graphics on ICTYN's social media platforms, marketing materials, style guide, and presentation templates.

  1. Plans concept by studying information and materials;
  2. Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts;
  3. Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval;
  4. Prepares final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art;
  5. Completes projects by coordinating with outside agencies, art services, printers, etc;
  6. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 
Desired Skills and Experience
  1. Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, and other desktop publishing software;
  2. Excellent time-management skills, ability to meet deadlines, and attention to detail;
  3. Must have access to the necessary equipment and software;
  4. Good interpersonal and cross-organisational communications skills;
  5. Good written and spoken English skills;
  6. Detail oriented and prompt response to emails.
Eligibility and Selection
  1. This position requires approximately 3 hours per week.
  2. Position is unpaid and part-time.
  3. Candidates are not required to be ICTYN members to apply.
