Julia Handle

Julia, M.A. Candidate in Terrorism, Security and Society at King’s College London, has a strong interest in processes of radicalisation and the effectiveness of deradicalisation. During her postgraduate studies, Julia focused on a gendered perspective on radicalisation and the reproduction of gendered assumptions in the media reporting about terrorists.
 
Julia holds a joint Bachelor degree (History and Political Sciences) of the University Bielefeld and Université Paris Diderot VII in which she focused on international relations and the European Union. During her studies, she was funded by the scholarship „Deutschlandstipendium“ based on her academic achievements.
 
In the past, Julia has worked for the Helmholtz Association in Brussels as well as for a German member of Parliament. She has participated in workshops and trainings of the United Nations Associations of Germany and the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
